GTA San Andreas : GTA SA crashes

Thread Question:

GTA_SA.EXE has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience, i updated to direct x 9.0c, 256 ram, AMD Duron, MMX, 3DNow, 1.1GHz, 64 MB GE FORCE2 MX/MX 400. Can anybody help

hi jeff,

I think this problem could be from your OS. Have you tried updating your xp to SP2+ ? Also make sure that you have enough space on your harddriver?

Try also to lower your sound acceleration inside directx (type dxdiag)

GTA needs VERY latest drivers with OS updates. If you have not updated drivers, please update from the following sites.

This might work for you..

1. Uninstall your recent ATI catalyst drivers and install ATi catalyst 4.9. Download here: http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=863

2. Go to DRIVE:\Documents and Settings\USER\My Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files and delete this file: gta_sa.set file
